Dr Dong Feng joined Qianhai Mercantile Exchange Co. Ltd (QME) as General Manager in October, 2018. Dr Dong has a Bachelor of Science degree from Peking University of China and a PhD degree in Astrophysics from Princeton University in the United States. He also has five years of hedge fund experience in the Wall Street.

He returned to China in 2012 and took the position as head of trading business at Precious Metals Department in ICBC Headquarter. In April 2016, Dr Dong joined Pingan Commodities Trading Co. Ltd. As General Manager and legal representative.

His background is in mathematics and physics and is familiar with financial derivatives and operational risk management procedures and regulations. He has rich experience in the construction of commodity spot trading platform and physical delivery system.

Mr Duncan Hobbs brings over 25 years of experience to his London-based role as director of market research for all non-ferrous metals and related materials traded by Concord Resources Ltd. Previously he managed a team of four senior staff responsible for non-ferrous metals and bulk commodities market research at Noble Group, based in Singapore.

Underlying these positions with physical traders, Duncan’s previous experience includes commodities market research and business development roles in financial services with Macquarie Bank; mining and metal production with Nyrstar; engineering services with Hatch; and independent market research with CRU, where he was a member of the steel team. He began his career in dry bulk shipping market research with Drewry in London.

Duncan is also presently serving as a member of the LME’s Lead & Zinc Committee.

Prior to that, he worked for a world-renowned airline, managing their jet fuel risk book. Mr Koh also delivers LME bespoke training courses in the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr. Li is currently general manager of iron ore division in Xiamen ITG Group and general manager of Fujian Sanming Steel International Trading.

He has been in charge of LTC trading and procurement of spot iron ore and metallurgical coal trading business since 2004 after the establishment of Fujian Sanming Steel International Trading, the joint venture by Xiamen ITG Group and Fujian Sanming Group in 2004. 

He has over 15 years' experience in ferrous industry and has been working as the head of iron ore trading business in Xiamen ITG Group. Li has vast experience in iron ore market, especially the future-spot arbitrage and spot iron ore trading.

Based in Beijing, Sifang is a senior consultant for our copper research team, where he works analysing the cost and supply of copper mines as well as copper smelters and refineries. He specialises in Chinese copper mines, smelters and refineries.

Since joining Wood Mackenzie in Feburary 2014, Sifang has begun to focus on copper mine costs. He then expanded his coverage to copper smelters and refineries, covering all Chinese and Japanese copper operations. He is also the key stakeholder on our views on Chinese concentrate market and contributes accordingly to our copper market service and copper concentrate service on the supply side.

Prior to incorporation of Perfect Hexagon Limited in 2013, Mr. Sim appointed as General Manager of Takamaya Sdn Bhd (a member of the AL Group) in 2006, taking charge of business administration and project management for various real estate development projects in Malaysia.  He played a major role in the Group’s expansion into trading and manufacturing, and in charge of the Group’s domestic and international business operations.  Mr. Sim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from Leeds University Business School, Profession Diploma in Entrepreneurship from BTEC, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Charles Sturt University, Australia.

Dr Le Xia is Chief Economist for Asia at BBVA Research. He joined BBVA in 2010. He also serves as a research fellow in International Monetary Institute at Renmin University of China. Prior to joining BBVA Research, Dr Xia worked for the Treasury Department of Bank of China (Hong Kong). The research fields of Dr Xia include macroeconomics in Asia economies, financial development in the Asian region and the economic integration between China and other emerging markets.

He obtained his PhD from the University of Hong Kong and has a master degree from Renmin University of China.

Dr Le Xia is Chief Economist for Asia at BBVA Research. He joined BBVA in 2010. He also serves as a research fellow in International Monetary Institute at Renmin University of China. Prior to joining BBVA Research, Dr Xia worked for the Treasury Department of Bank of China (Hong Kong). Ms. Xu has long been engaged in non-ferrous metals market research, industrial consulting and conference organization, the main research area for non-ferrous nickel cobalt stainless steel and other metals. She is the member of the expert group in China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and the State Development Bank.

Ms Xu has many times participated in the International Nickel Research Group, cobalt development association, LME, Shanghai Futures Exchange and other institutions organized activities and undertakes the subject or express views on the market, domestically and internationally and received high recognition. In recent years, She has comprehensive and in-depth study of the battery metal industry chain.

Ms. Xu graduated from Beijing University of Science and Technology with a master's degree in metal materials, and from April 2010 to present, she is the Secretary-General of the Cobalt Branch of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association; August 2017 to the present, she is an independent director of The New Materials Co., Ltd. of Tengyuan Cobalt Industry in Zhangzhou.

Mr Zhang joined DBS Bank in 2011 as General Manager of DBS Bank Shanghai Branch and Head of China Commodities Industry Team.  He was appointed as Global Head, Metals & Mining of DBS Bank in 2019. Mr Zhang is a seasoned banker, he comes with over 30 years of banking experience and held numbers of senior positions in Standard Chartered Bank and BNP Paribas prior to joining DBS Bank. Mr Zhang graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with Bachelor degree major in Mechanic engineering and finished his Master Course in Macro Economy in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Mr Zhang joined DBS Bank in 2011 as General Manager of DBS Bank Shanghai Branch and Head of China Commodities Industry Team.  He was appointed as Global Head, Metals & Mining of DBS Bank in 2019. Mr Zhang is a seasoned banker, he comes with over 30 years of banking experience and held numbers of senior positions in Standard Chartered Bank and BNP Paribas prior to joining DBS Bank. Prior to joining Bloomberg Intelligence, she was a research analyst for Goldman Sachs and Royal Bank of Scotland in Hong Kong covering commodities. Yi also has a strong background in industry research and commodity trading by having worked for metal producers including Alcoa in the U.S. and Shenhuo Aluminum in Shanghai.
Yi received her master’s in business administration from Pennsylvania State University and holds a bachelor’s of science in mathematics from Fudan University, Shanghai.
